Tuckpointing / Brickwork update:

We thought that you might be interested in an update on the brickwork that has been happening this summer, on the facade of “The Mill”.

This is the oldest building in the complex, and the mortar was in worse shape than expected, and created more debris and dust than planned.

The affected tenants this year experienced more dust than any of the tenants did for the other complex walls that were repaired in previous years.    This certainly created many new challenges.

The good news, is that everything is running as scheduled, and we are nearing an end.  The re-pointing of all the brickwork will be completed this week.  On the weekend, the wall will be power washed.  Next week the architect will be here to inspect for any small deficiencies.  The contractors have also started prep for painting of the windows.  With three painters, it won’t be long before the scaffolding is gone.  Once the scaffolding is gone, they will lastly address any tuckpointing needed at ground level.

We appreciate that all our tenants are understanding when it pertains to the additional maintenance required to keep a historic building such as this.  The contractor has promised that the wall will be as beautiful as a piece of art once finished, and that the historical integrity of the building will be retained for many many years to come.
